After getting back from the trip and spending 4 extra days in Las Vegas. I have so many good memories from the trip. Im now back at my regular job still thinking about the 14 days spent at NABX. This year truly was one for the memory books, and we’ll each have our stories to tell about the event. I hope it lasts until next years event.
On the way home and for the past two weeks, I’ve been working on the video, and sorting through countless pictures. I’ve managed to get everything finally together once Dino stopped bother me with his questions about kites and buggies. Before you go watch this long video I’d like to thank those that made this an incredible story for us.
Where to begin, and so many things to remember. I apologize now if I’ve forgotten you, and you can always shoot me an email to jog my memory and I’ll add it asap. There is one thing I do remember that I just need to keep that one brain cell for kiting.
Maria - for taking good care of all of us. Both on the field, in the tent and at the hotel. You’ve kept us all together, so I could enjoy my time just riding and having a true vacation.
Grant and Ken #3 - for driving down all the gear for the Canadian Crew. It sure saved from paying the airlines to get our buggies and kits onboard.
Canadian Crew - helping us show De Dutch crew a good time again.
American Crew - also for your entertainment as well. It was fun seeing all you guys / gals again, when we only get to meet up once or twice a year at the different events.
Pat / Monty - for taking such good care of us. Changing my tires every time I had a flat. Good thing I didn’t go through all 30 tires that we had. I proud to witness you challenge the wind and went out in those conditions to ride, and you made it back to camp no problem. You maybe the oldest, but not the slowest! whoop whoop kiteloop!!!
Sean - you have filled my whole week full of Red Bull. Spending some time with you to get your kites setup was fun too, right up to the point when you went out and destroyed a set.
Dino - you will always be my KB (kite bitch), but its great to have you as a friend. Its going to be a fun filled season again.
Peter Lynn NL - you guys never stop doing enough for us. Supplying me with kites and getting my new XXtreme ApeXX shipped from NL to LAS. Finally I got to meet the man behind the designs than skyping all the time. Michel you did a good job with the tutorial on how to tune kites for new/old fliers. So you should all be flying on short lines now, hehehe.
De Dutch Crew - you guys are the best, and make the most of everything. However I didn't sleep much other than that one day I spent in the car sleeping as the wind was blown. Even than I was woken up with everyone yelling of their new speed records. Next time I need to have a week off before and after the event. See you guys in a few months.
Dean / NABX Crew - you guys out do yourselves every year. this is way its “our” event, and we sure do soak it in as much as possible. I cant thank you enough for all your hard work to putting this event on.
So sit back, turn up the volume and share my 10 days at NABX. Its about 17 mins long, but I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did in person.
See you all at NABX 2011.
